Who really owns Jerusalem?

Many people believe that the land of Israel belongs to Jews. The land was given to Abraham and his seed.

Gen 12:7 And LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land:

He was originally given the land of Canaan which was located between the Red Sea and the Ephrates River. (Gen 15:18)

The land deed was passed first to Abraham’s son Issac and then to his son Jacob (Gen28:13). Jacob had 12 sons —Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulun, Dan, Issachar, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph and Benjamin. These tribes became known as the 12 tribes of Israel. Judah was only one of the 12 tribes. Joshua took the 12 tribes of Israel into the land of Canaan where the land was divided among the 12 tribes. (Joshua 1:2-6)

Jos 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Jos 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Jos 1:4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Jos 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, soI will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Jos 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them

IMPORTANT: So originally the land of Israel belonged to the 12 Tribes of Israel. Judah was one of these tribes.

Who is Abraham’s seed today and who own the land? All Christians

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Israel was a Church

All Christians are considered the Abraham’s seed because Israel was not just a nation. They were also a church. The Israelites were called the “church in the wilderness”.

Act 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wildernesswith the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

In the Old Testament, the phrase“Congregation of Israel” is used 93 times.

The promise of Abraham included more than the land of Israel. Joshua told the Israelites who were entering into Canaan that every where their foot touched would be there land.

In Conclusion:

In earlier centures, the Christians knew the land of Israel belonged to them. That is what lead to the Crusades.
